Overview of Machine Quilting Services
Broadly speaking, there are two types of machine quilting:
- Edge to Edge Quilting (also known as pantograph or all-over quilting) is a single continuous line of quilting worked from one side edge of a quilt to the opposite side edge with repeating rows all over the quilt. This method of quilting is quick and usually the most inexpensive option; and
- Custom Quilting - the application of a machine quilting plan which complements, enhances or supplements the quilt design giving thought to the quilt’s theme, style and the piecing or appliqué techniques used.
Which option you choose will depend on the design and style of your quilt, the effect you want to achieve, and your budget. I would be very happy to discuss your requirements with you. I also offer backing, basting and binding services. See Machine Quilting Services Pricing for more information.
You can visit me in person for a consultation or you can arrange for your quilts to be delivered to me. Either way, my quilt preparation guidelines will assist in achieving the best results for your quilt.
